Charley Macaulay is just 19 years old, but has already crammed an enormous amount into her short career. Charley came to prominence winning the Under 18’s section of the national competition ‘Live and Unsigned’, blowing away 10,000 other hopefuls as she did so.
The singer/songwriter is a breath of fresh air in a world dominated by disposable pop, with people loving her strong, unique and soulful voice presenting her own uplifting sound and innovative writing style. She sites Aretha Franklin, Beyoncé, Stevie Wonder, Etta James and Kate Bush amongst her major influences, all of which seep out in her personally inspired material and powerful, vocal delivery. She has also just been confirmed as one of the ‘house vocalists’ at Mama Stones, Joss Stones gaff!Charley released her long awaited ‘The Debut EP’ in the winter of 2011 and is in conversation with interested record producers, labels, film producers and others in regards to further projects and recordings.
